Hi,

I will be spending half a day in Philladelphia
with my relatives.
What could we see?
Liberty Bell done before
Art museum done before
Zoo (in winter) too cold.

Tripadvisor proposes a teapot museum in Trenton,
Not interested.

What else one can see in Philly?

You need to go to Geno's and get a cheese steak!

I'm going away to Spain, when I get my money saved.

Cheese Steak. I sort of like them but can't they put something other than American Cheese on them?

Are you reviving this thread? Will you be in town with your sales guys?

Funny reading the answers from 2014. You'd have a hard time getting a table at Vernick today. The restaurant scene has really exploded in the last few years. Many more amazing restaurants. Fishtown is Brooklyn south for hipsters and artists and could easily be classified as Williamsburg ca. 2003. I'll be at Barnes Wednesday night for a lecture.

Nah, just passing through on the weekend after next
(Friday afternoon till Sunday).
Got relatives in the area, and
was interested in possible
cultural experiences (not dining though, cannot hurt feelings of the hosts.)

The UPenn museum is very good. The have good Eastern (Asian) and Egyptian exhibits. People don't seem to know about it so you can have quite a bit of privacy during a visit.

If you can stomach it the Mutter museum is worth it.

"The Mütter Museum is a medical museum located in the Center City area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It contains a collection of medical oddities, anatomical and pathological specimens, wax models, and antique medical equipment. The museum is part of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia. The original purpose of the collection, donated by Dr. Thomas Dent Mütter in 1858, was for biomedical research and education."

The Franklin Institute is worth a visit if you've never been.

If you have the time the barnes foundation has a great collection.

Also - Rodin museum is within walking distance from it.
