I'm thinking of applying to the UCL MSc Computational Statistics and Machine Learning and thought of asking again the value of such a program to enter funds specialised in quantitative trading. Is it still pretty much a PhD-only job market out there? I should say here that I have a couple of years of experience as a quantitative developer for a commodities trading house and knows my C++ pretty well.

Yes.
And that's not going to change with the constant supply stream of PhDs coming to London.
