How competitive would someone be in the finance world in terms of landing a job if he/she majored in Biostatistics in graduate school? Specifically if one wants to get a job at quantitative prop firms which do HFT.

I know it is not the best career path if one has a BS in STEM majors, but I'm trying to make a transition from medicine/biology in to quantitative trading, and it seems like Biostatistics is the ideal choice. From what I've heard, the curriculum is almost identical to a Statistics graduate school, and since I'll get my license a few years from now, maybe I'll have a chance to be admitted in to a better ranked school.

I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on this.
