first time I heard of the term. FDAX is the first vegetarian I've ever met (and my God, I've known the mofo since 2003), who actually has not pontificated with some piety on the concept of BEING a vegetarian. Well, maybe that's not precisely true. I used to live with this German mathematician chess champion and Go champion who was sort of like that. I wrote a story about him once. Karsten Henckell.

Upon taking my nightly post workout feed, I am reminded of a trick from 1950s era muscleheads. If you eat a steak, take betaine with it. There's a lot of nonsense "bro-science" you'll find when you google the subject, but it definitely helps digest food.

Back in the old pre-dianabol health and fitness muscle magazines, muscle heads thought digestion was one of the most important things for good health. You can read Bernarr McFadden and Sandow and other such health gurus giving specific instructions as to the proper mastication techniques. Probably overblown (McFadden chewed his coffee and milk), but certainly digesting the food properly will help you retain nitrogen better, as well making for a more pleasant life. Betaine helps.

Since we're in the trashcan here, I figure I'll share my love for the old health and fitness magazines. The advice isn't always completely sound, but it's much better than what you get in the modern equivalent, as there were no drugs involved, and these guys mostly weren't selling anything other than chest expanders (which, FWIIW, are a great workout for road warriors). A lot of the weird ideas these guys had are actually very good.

The Rock ain't Arnie by any stretch, but I read about his diet, which seemed to include copious portions of chicken fish and vegetables.
