Recently came across and read The Perfect Bet (Adam Kucharski) - Amazon UK

Pretty light read - but interesting to see a lot of the techniques used in professional trading and now they're applied in the sporting / gaming worlds.
Not going to change your / your firm's trading or give you some amazing insight to stop trading bunds and start betfair - but interesting (and on how techniques / systems have developed)

Worth a holiday read...

i cant make the bet from here in usa, but just for fun, looked at paddy power

england winning euro 7:1
captain of england team winning british sportsman of year 40:1

if england did win the soccer cup, what are the chances the captain wouldnt win the sportsman of the year (or at least, upon his team winning the cup, his odds of winning the sportsman award wouldnt drop from 40:1 to 7:1)

might be worth laying against england to win the cup but buying the captain to win sportsman
