nice idea but the captcha is enough to make me not want to use it.

Sorry, but without a captcha the server would quickly fall under a DDoS attack.
I experienced enough of them, so I know what I am talking about.

The most curious was ... via a button "recommend by email".
Some asshole launched a bot that "recommended" all my pages to a huge amount of emails. There was no commercial gain for attacker (in particular, he cannot modify the recommendation text with a spam message), so it was either hooligan or the asshole wanted to have my server IP blacklisted due to a bulk of unsolicited email.

Anyway, an alternative to captcha would be the following:
1. Register and PM me your login
2. I will upgrade your user level, so that the captcha will not be required

But a necessity always to sign-in (even with a one-click via social login) will likely irritate at least as much as captcha ...
