I voluntarily left as a senior FI trader 4 years ago from a good sellside shop. It had become boring - both socially and dexterously.

I have been given a couple of the opportunities to come back in the last 12 months (top of the market!) but they are both really interesting. I had a made a lot and subsequently lost it in the intervening years (and learnt immeasurably from the experience).

I'm tempted to come back but what is the chance of getting paid? I've been given the chance to build the credit business for two (well known) sellside shops in London and in NY. For early stage with reasonable risk it would seem capped $1.5MM at best, all in, deferred, and every other covenant possible, with good performance otherwise penalized for bad or great!
