i have started doing some historical backtests on sports money line data, and would like to chat with someone if they have experience and interest.

i am looking to learn about books and papers that i should read, and discuss data sourcing.

Can I ask where you got the historical odds data? Did you have to scrape sportsbookreview or one of those sites?

Definitely not an expert (and not sure what type of sports betting you're looking into), but I came across "Efficiency of Racetrack Betting Markets" by Hausch some time ago:

It's a pretty good collection of review papers about racetrack betting if that's what you're after. Some of them might be dated, though.
