Ya braddah, I've even seen a secret spot on Sardinia (Sardegna) that gets waves.  Altho u need nifty little copter to get u there.  I've gut two fresh boards wastin away in my closet here in NYC right now, a 6'2" fish (xanadu) and 6'8" semi-gun.  Not to mention my wahine girlfriend (from Maui) who is growing to hate me more with each passing Winter.Cool

While in Sardinia you could as well try wake boarding after the luxury power yachts.

Kook Boy, sorry I mean Nonius, you may find this web site useful

http://magicseaweed.com/UK-Ireland-Surf-Forecast/1/

As to your humour over Scottish surfing, Ive actually surfed about 20 spots within 20 miles of Coldingham, and there is one particularly good, left breaking reef V. near to the spot. Coldingham itself is incredibly crowded these days thanks to a surf shop on the beach (we're talking 50-60 people some weekends).

But if you want to understand what Scottish surfing is about, you need to google Thurso East, which is a very hard breaking right. And by the way I've lived in Hawaii, S. America California, and Portugal, so I have some idea of what Im talking about.

Last thing I heard there aint much surf in London Wink

Mundaka is gone...global warming has erased it (sandbar) from existence.

Impressive. I've only surfed Blackies, Newport Beach, the Point, Newport Beach, (actually all beaches in Newport other than the Wedge),Pleasure Point Santa Cruz, Trestles, the Ranch, various beaches north of San Diego, K55 Baja California, both sides of Costa Rica, Poipu Beach Kaui, Long Island NY, and Acapulco, Mexico.  the Pacific is....well, just a better ocean.

If I could only surf one spot for the rest of my life, it would be Honolua Bay (the cave), Upper West Side, Maui...not quite Pipe, but the death ratio is much betterEvil Grin

a couple of problems with Hawaii...firstly, the locals aren't cool about howlies.  secondly, I'd go nuts living there, although I've been there several times on vacation.

Maui locals r cool with haoles...since a large proportion of surfers there are haoles...it's much tamer than, say the north shore of oahu type Hui "I bust u face u phuckin haole" attitude...i've never even been given a second look in the lineup...just show respect to the locals, wait your turn on the peak and NEVER drop-in on a deeply-tanned braddahCool

Nonius,

I quite agree the Pacific is the better Ocean (particularly the S. Pacific where Im off to in 3 weeks time) but if you're in Europe you still get quality waves.

You do understand my tone was mild p*ss taking right? Apologies if you took the kook jibe seriously.

Kustmeister, I went to Honolua once when I was in Hawaii- it was flat. The only time I got given shit in Hawaii was by an overweight redneck, but I lived in a pretty quite part of the Islands....

no, I didn't take the jibe seriuosly.

I've been hassled in Hawaii by locals a few times, and in all occassions they simply wanted to "beef" with me for no particular reason.  "you like beef?" is what they would say.

I was just thinking if Nonius could find his was to buying up the W. End of Mauii, but i forgot that in Hawaii you have a right of access to all beaches enshrined in law.

I do know a few spots Peru which might be worth buying up.....
