1) As for IEX: more complex than I thought, I still have to work on that.

2) I am not a journalist, I am a student in anthropology with a field work to do.

3) My last answer about my felony (I am fed up). "And clearly, it was premeditated": you must be joking! I was with my companion and my mother, my 5-month little boy was in a push-chair I was driving, we all were cool, walking quietly, I was talking with my family about the incredible architecture of this kind of tower (masterpieces), and we arrived near the basement, and this worker left all the doors open, and I asked to my companion for keeping the baby, asked my mother to watch around, and YES I went into the pen because I knew the basement of the tower was so small and I wanted to see it. If the door were close I wouldn't even have the idea to get into the facility. End of the story. (I even shoot my so little boy with the tower in the background, so I have proofs ;).

@Sniperinmahwah by the way the book is really good to read. I have sent it to a couple of clients of mine so that they have something else to read than Flashboys.

@Panzermeyer Much appreciated, thank you. Two years ago I had no idea of what HFT was, I worked hard to give a full picture of these things and write a non-caricatural story…

Finished to read your book. I liked it and a good refresher on history of electronic trading.

Interesting article today about McKay.

@zerohair By the way, if you want to move on microwave, a EU network is probably for sale – not the fastest one, but if you update it…

@Alex / sniperinmahwah,
When I saw you in this film, I thought you were going to elevate the dialogue with your bona fides. However the discussion goes downhill:

Would have been more interesting if they just interviewed you.

@Phantom309

Thanks. Well, that could have been worse, I think that's not so easy to explain to the general public the SORs, etc. The recent French TV movie was substantially worse.

That said… the Dutch journalists sent me the DeGiro study about TOM but I didn't really look at it until recently. Interesting case, with odd numbers. I think they missed something, somewhere; I'll write a short post about that on the blog, Monday.

My 2 cents for what is is worth: don't talk to the press. Never. You already are the real journalist. These guys are just Neanderthals, and their role is limited to keep other Neanderthals busy in front of their screen. It could be interesting to count the fraction of time the camera spent on the journalist alone, sitting in a cab, standing on the street, ...

Btw I love your last post on clock synchronization, non Italian speaking people will miss a lot... poorly inspired subtitles!

The Daily Mail weighs in.

"Called high-frequency traders, they are highly controversial because they make their money by picking the pockets of ordinary share dealers who look after our pensions and investments."

What about the pension funds that invest in HFoFs that invest in HFs that employ HFT? Are they picking their own pockets? This is all very confusing...

With insight like that, you too could write for the Daily Mail.

Less the fees. Otherwise the game would not be worth it.

Why has rukarin deleted all his posts?

Is that some sort of post-stuffing, HFT-style?

Too bad. I would have liked to read the thread in its entirety but I wasn't FAST ENOUGH, I guess, I am only a low-to-mid freq person...

@AndyM

Thank you for the link, didn't see it. I love the "We" in "Two we have tracked down are called Jump Trading and Optiver", they didn't track anything, they just copied what I wrote in the blog without quoting it, of course. I'll comment the paper in the season 2 of "HFT in my backyard" in September. Amazing: the Dunkirk tower is no longer important, Jump and others are now using shortest paths, bypassing Dunkirk. The DM article is already outdated…
