If to motivate them (map utility to profit), it will work :))

Network of Dilbert readers is a virtual power in the office. Its regular reading improves self-perception of smartness of the reader.
.
Primates connected into BRAINET can be motivated with bananas. That alone will finally destroy Wall Street's bonus system. Cool

Leaving aside the quality of this research, I'd rather expect AI systems to take over in 10-20 years.

This was done long ago. It's called Bloomberg.

EDIT: For clarity, I mean the monkey bit...

Looked "ex machina". It is good.
They elaborated simple idea - "AI-rat gets out of the maze".

this article Life Before Earth
estimates time when life has started.
.
If to continue the line (in article) we may ask ourselves whether living species are fit to keep up with this evolution race and shifting from Humans to Robots is inevitable from Moore's law point of view. I mean that the organic technology of intelligence carrier will be replaced with the silicon or some nano-tech (single atom transistors are announced).

PS. I understand that the article is about "genetic complexity", but the analogy suggests the application to intelligence. By the way, science tells that humans are not champions in "genetic complexity".

No hamster would beat buying Dogecoins at the very start.

Selection bias. You're not seeing all the underperforming hamsters who were fed to the lab Boa.
