Hi,
I know lots of firms use data like satellite images, search histories, phone location data, etc. But how much of their data is in the legal "grey" area? For example, there have been (and still are) plenty of legal battles over the scraping / selling of data, as well as there is plenty of data that is not really publicly available, such as conversations.

The reason I ask is because I actively scrape millions of profiles from all the leading dating sites / apps (terabytes) and am wondering if there is any value to what I do (probably not, but it is fun, and I might as well ask). I sent a message to Alpha Studio (Two Sigma's data gathering group) but it is unlikely they respond.
