I was flipping through a book of American Poetry, and ran across a "poem" entitled "Tribute to Henry Ford" by Richard Kostelanetz...anyway, it looks like an attempt to write poetry in a graph.....pretty cool, except I think we could do a collaberative poem on a much more interesting graph....I was thinking of maybe a graph describing a tessellation of a torus.... |

the reason why you didn't pick up on it at first was the previous title of the thread was "Mathematical Art". |

don't look at Nonius's last one drunk. You'll fall outta your chair.
"i was thinking it would be quite cool to have a whiteboard in my apt...i think i have gone beyond the point of no return, now."
You mean, you still don't have a whiteboard at home? Is there something wrong with you?
Whiteboards, by the way, can be had at pennies on the unit of currency at office close out firms and auctions. |
Prior to the publication of the Black-Scholes model in 1973, the quest for a valuation formula that would describe option prices reflected one of the most elusive goals in financial economics. Though much work was done in the 1960s, many of the insights and techniques used to solve the problem were presented or anticipated at the beginning of the twentieth century by Louis Bachelier, an obscure French mathematician. These innovations include the first graphical representation of option pricing, a mathematical description of stock prices utilizing Brownian motion and anticipating the efficient market hypothesis, and the first formal option pricing formula. |

Regarding mathematical art (and not 1 million USD), here's something cool: Periodic Minimal Surfaces Image Gallery (at Cambridge University). I find the gallery quite aesthetically pleasing, not to mention sexy
