I remembered reading some article a while ago about some old lady who actually sold her families business (not a huge a amount as far as businesses go, worth 400K or something like that, but still, to her it represented an entire life's work) and gave the money to Mr. Mombutu of the Nigerian Oil Ministry.

I'm sorry, but I just can't help chuckling when I think about that.
